Five Elections Offices reportedly received bomb threats since the 2024 Election took place last Tuesday. Ironically, 10 US House seats in California have still not been called.
We reported on bomb threats in Orange County and Riverside Counties on Friday night. Numerous questions remain outstanding related to the incidents in Orange County.
In addition to Orange and Riverside Counties, San Diego County also received a bomb threat on Friday evening. This is from a local news outlet.
The County of San Diego Registrar of Voters received a bomb threat early Friday evening at its office in Kearny Mesa. Sheriff’s deputies conducted an investigation. They determined the threat was not credible, and those who were in the building were safe.
The safety of County employees and the public is a top priority. The Sheriff’s Office will continue working with law enforcement partners to monitor intelligence and information related to any possible threats, and they are prepared to handle any safety challenges that may arise.
The Registrar of Voters is committed to a safe, transparent and accurate election process and will continue to process remaining ballots to certify election results by Dec. 5. The Registrar expects to use the full certification period to make sure every legally cast vote is added to the count in the most expeditious, yet careful manner available, ensuring accurate results.
Modoc County in California shared a press release dated November 9, 2024 on a bomb threat in that county. This release states that that threat came via email but the date and who sent the email were not noted. We don’t know when this bomb threat occurred.
Yesterday it was reported from a local media outlet in Los Angeles that a bomb threat also occurred after the election in more recent days in a Southern California ballot processing center.
A third Southern California ballot processing center has confirmed that they received a bomb threat in the wake of the 2024 election.
According to Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan, the Norwalk headquarters of their office was the recipient of a bomb threat on Saturday.
“A thorough investigation is underway, and comprehensive sweeps have been conducted at our Norwalk office and Ballot Processing Center,” Logan said.
No threats were found, Logan added. He did not elaborate how the bomb threat was sent.
“These threats and efforts to disrupt the legal, transparent and secure process of counting all eligible ballots have no place in our electoral process,” he continued. “The safety of the employees working to complete the canvass of the election and the security of the ballots are our priority.”
Decision by state regulators means California gas prices could rise substantially
The threats to the Norwalk headquarters come days after the Orange County Registrar of Voters confirmed that they had a bomb threat called in to their ballot processing center in Santa Ana. Officials with the Riverside County Registrar of Voters also confirmed a bomb threat was called into their office on Friday.
These bomb threats come as the US House of Representatives race is not over. As of Monday morning November 11, there are 213 House seats won by the GOP and 203 won by the Dems.
Of the 19 seats not yet called, 10 are in California.
